Its  almost  impossible  you`d  be  allowed  to  have  your  dog  when  you  stay  in  a  dorm.  Most  school  dorms  do  not  welcome  pets,  even  if  they  do,  they  are  usually  limited  to  fish  in  an  aquarium  or  small  caged  animals,  like  birds  or  gerbils.

It  also  depends  on  how  long  are  you  here  for!?

If  you`re  going  to  be  in  Canada  for  more  than  2  years  and  you  don`t  mind  the  hassle  that  comes  with  the  dog  (  finding  pet  allowed  apt,  register  your  dog  with  the  city  and  pay  annual  dog  license  fee,etc.)  There  are  very  small  percentage  of  apartments  that  allowed  4-legs  pets,  however  this  type  of  rental  places  usually  have  waiting  lists,  especially  if  they  are  in  good  locations. 

Have  you  consider  getting  a  webcan?  You  can  still  "see"  you  dog  while  you`re  abroad  studying.
