I live in Hong Kong. I saved the clearance sites of A&F when was at Canada, but when I opened the same website in HK, the prices are changed from CAD to USD and they don`t give any discount. I have doubled confirmed this issue with my friend in Canada and recognized she sees the same items in the discount page AND in discount price. Recently, i learnt from school about a pricing strategy named Revenue Management, it seems like it is more or less doing an extend theory on this dynamic pricing strategy and product allocation strategy to maximize its revenue based on location. Well, for all business, making the highest profit is all what they want and target on. Just too bad for us that A&F decided to take advantage of the people who loves its brand but with location disadvantage. I am guessing people who know they are losing the discount privilege will not willing to pay the same product at a higher price. At least, I won`t. And eventually, there is a high chance that the overseas loyal and potential customers will just switch to purchase other brands with a fair treat. Thus, I wonder is it really good for A&F to use this location strategy in a long run, since there is a risk to gradually lose its loyal customers from overseas.
