I live in LA.. far away from NYC. but I had been there couple times and already found out that living standard is much higher than LA. Although, LA still consider as a high living standard area..
I am trying to save too although I am an OL not student. But when I was in shcool, I had part time job .. I am citizen so the tuition is cheaper.. but after 18 I never asked cash from my mom. I tried to support myself as possible as I can.
talk about how to save.. cut down entertainment cost, ( no movie but Bluckboster), don't go Tea station with friends. Only make international phone calls by using phone card. So, you can apply low income phone and it is cheaprt. no shopping until department stores in big sale don't log into any shopping website .. For buying stuff, I will check on internet first, cause I think it is cheaper if you are willing to wait for 1 week shipping time. Like I bought a liter size AVEDA shampoo only $15.. I can use for 1 year..
Cook at home.. pack my own lunch ( business area lunch at least $10 a person)
But I have to say.. don't be too over, otherwise it you will either become a unhappy person or shop big once!
