    Whether he is sending shockwaves through fashion establishment at Louis Vuitton (who else would graffiti the signature monogram LV bag?) or creating another �t?dress of the season for his own collection and just-as-popular diffusion line, Marc Jacobs is the barometer of all that is super-cool.

    Former Parson� School of Design graduate, Jacobs launched his own line in 1986 and his career is littered with memorable moments, such as designing for Perry Ellis (remember grunge?); being the youngest designer to win the honourable CFDA award for New Fashion Talent; launching womenswear, menswear, accessories, a fragrance; and of course his highly acclaimed contract as artistic director for Louis Vuitton.

  • For his fall show, Jacobs, in his unimitable way, turned the fashion pack on its head, by presenting the unexpected. Gone were the candy-colored tweed coats, the sherbert satin dresses and the oh-so-pretty camisoles and cardigans from spring. It was mod all the way with tomato red and black minis, optic white cashmere and sequin thigh-skimming evening dresses, double faced cashmere tunic dresses layered over skinny rib polo necks, winter white pea coats with shiny silver buttons and the unanimous favorite - a metallic silver leather parka with fox trim. Take away the cobalt blue tights and the sixties style wigs and you are left with some beautiful, extremely luxurious pieces.

  • Like the clothing that he designs, Jacobs?accessories have reached cult status. It� this unique vision and oh-so-desirable brand of vintage-inspired luxury that appeals to Jacobs-addicts like Sofia Coppola, Sarah Jessica Parker and Liv Tyler. And the covetable handbag collection, which he launched two years ago, is no different. The height of urban chic - each of the ultra-luxe leather day bags is an irresistible cocktail of form and function, distinguished by a multitude of zippers, pockets, buckles and loops. Fall sees the introduction of some new and highly desirable shapes. Styles like the futuristic Dominique clutch in black and white, the lady-like Lola with an ingenious hidden mini umbrella and the minimalist Olivia East West tote with silver fastenings are sure to have the fashion conscious women of the world begging for more.

    雖說為知名品牌操刀設計,有來自該品牌的歷史包袱..無法盡情揮灑自己的創意與風格.
    但某些方面卻又像是水幫魚,魚幫水般..
    若能成功提昇該品牌人氣,製造話題,創造利潤..
    往往能從一位優秀設計師晉升到明星設計師之林..

    到時除操刀品牌外,連同自有的品牌都會受到消費者喜愛.
    Alexander McQueen ,Michael Kors ,John Galliano ,Stella McCartney, Lagerfeld....等.都是成功的例子.

    以此類推的話..或許不久的將來會看到Tom Ford 這個牌子的誕生..
  • 我是覺得有人挑牌子,有人選設計師...MARC在台灣還有點紅,我認為不可諱言的是LV的名氣所帶來的,不過事實上MARC的同名品牌,可在1986年就出來了,早在他入主LV的1998年喔,MARC本身對於服裝設計就很有自己的想法,很敢去做一些突破和嘗試,而他也重視服飾材質的,所以MARC JACOBS也才會如此的高價...其實我覺得真的是該佩服LV敢去找來MARC操刀,也許LV那時便是真的決定要往前衝了,才會把未來押在MARC身上,而現在也證明押對寶啦~~~最近幾年MARC BY上市了,感覺起來不論是在LV,MARC JACOBS整體的轉向都粉嫩了起來,不過卻各有巧妙,MARC BY的風格更是年輕,是所以MARC作品路線中我最愛的系列,聽說他為了讓更多人接觸他的作品,希望能推出類似GAP這樣更為平價的大型連鎖服飾路線,不過要有金主支持他...真希望這個金主趕快出現呀...這樣MARC的商品就更豐富了~~~
