Mi  Soledad

Joaquín  Cortés,  the  Spanish  flamenco  dancing  sensation  is  back  with  a  fabulous  new  reworking  of  his  show  "Mi  Soledad"(My  Solitude).

The  costumes  have  been  designed  specially  for  this  show  by  Jean  Paul  Gaultier,  keeping  as  usual  his  simple  and  elegant  style,  with  basic  colours  such  as  black,  white  and  dark  red  –  colours  of  blood  and  wine  and  colours  that  keep  in  touch  with  the  harmony  of  the  show.

Night  at  the  Museums--Art  stays  up  late  in  London

自從去年V&A在中庭展出Volume裝置藝術展後,
便喜歡上夜間逛博物館和藝廊的另種風味,既可
避開擁擠人潮,觀賞燈光而展現的建築風貌,幸運
還能碰上夜間的特別活動.

Sleep:  Warhol/Cage/Satie

Andy  Warhol`s  first  film,  Sleep,  is  screened  throughout  the  night  accompanied  by  a  re-creation  of  the  musical  performance  that  inspired  it,  John  Cage`s  historic  staging  of  Erik  Satie`s  epic  repetitive  work  for  piano,  Vexations  (1893).  Performances  by  Gavin  Bryars,  Michael  Nyman  and  Joshua  Rifkin

Friday  Late  Surrealist  Ball

The  V&A  celebrates  their  Surreal  Things  exhibition  by  putting  a  modern  spin  on  the  legendary  Surrealists  balls.  Dress  the  part  and  take  part  in  the  "Sad  Fan  Raffle"  with  prizes  like  a  piece  of  Jeffrey  Archer`s  fence.  Live  performances  include  Lady  G  Luck`s  shrimp  lady  dance  and  Marisa  Carnesky`s  levitation  piece,  while  gramophones  spin  1920’s  and  original  Surrealist  sounds.

SAILOR  CHIC

July  25  until  December  2  2007

THIS  summer  the  National  Maritime  Museum  Greenwich  will  explore  our  fascination  for  all  fashions  nautical  in  a  new  exhibition,  Sailor  Chic.  Featuring  archive  pieces  from  leading  designers  including    Chanel,  Dolce  &  Gabbana,  John  Galliano  and  Yves  Saint  Laurent  as  well  as  items  from  the  museum`s  own  collection,  the  exhibition  will  chart  the  history  of  the  trend  and  the  enduring  influence  of  naval-inspired  styles  on  fashion  over  the  last  150  years.

"The  Sailor  Chic  exhibition  reminds  us  of  Britain`s  maritime  heritage  ."  From  the  sailor  suit  Queen  Victoria  had  made  for  her  son  to  wear  on  board  the  Royal  Yacht  in  1846  to  Vivienne  Westwood`s  iconic  Pirate  collection  in  1981,  the  nautical  trend  now  has  a  prevalent  place  on  the  high  street  too  -  not  a  season  goes  by  when  brass  buttons  and  jaunty  stripes  (or  even  bell-bottoms)  don`t  get  a  fashionable  mention.

Sweet  Bird  of  Youth,  the  Hedi  Slimane-curated  show  currently  on  view  at  Berlin`s  Arndt  &  Partner  gallery.  Artists  in  the  show  range  from  seasoned  names  such  as  Matt  Saunders,  Steven  Shearer,  and  Paul  P  to  New  York`s  current  crew  of  young  guns—Terence  Koh,  Dan  Colen,  Dash  Snow,  and  Ryan  McGinley.  Slimane  himself  has  contributed  shots  from  his  photographic  series  Young  American,  as  well  as  a  neon  sculpture  that  consists  of  the  exhibit`s  title  (which  is  borrowed  from  the  Tennessee  Williams  play)  affixed  to  black  frame,  from  which  dangles  a  string  of  glossy  black-and-white  photographs  clipped  from  fashion  magazines.  Despite  his  limited  palette,  Slimane  has  put  together  a  nuanced  show  about  the  complex 
pleasures  of  being  young.(style.com)
